Concert Series

Sunday River Inn provides lodging and access to both x-country and downhill skiing. The Inn is now, in 2013, also presenting the spring, summer & fall music series, in addition to providing comfortable, affordable rooms in a European-style setting. The rustic, historic, and welcoming confines of the Inn are particularly compatible with acoustic music. We will be presenting wonderful performers in the folk and acoustic genres.
Catered food and drink are included in the ticket price.
Indie Folk Artist Kicks Off Music Series
Friday, April 5, 8 pm
Duane Bond, of Sunday River Inn, has invited Dave Dersham, a former Environmental Educator at the Stone Environmental Schools -- which Duane founded & directed for 13 of his 33 years in environmental education in the US and Canada -- to kick off a series of concerts at the Sunday River Inn. The concert starts at 8pm, Friday, April 5th.
Dave Dersham

Dave was born in Eugene Oregon in 1967, and moved to Amherst, MA, in 1971. Dave has been playing the New England folk scene since 1996. He has played the coveted Iron Horse numerous times, most recently as one of the winners of the Collective Music Group’s Benefit Concert, showcasing the emerging talent of Western Massachusetts. He has also played in the Pacific Northwest and in Texas. His original songs are often ethereal, embodying an amusing, yet melancholic sensibility. So far, Dave has pressed two CDs, both of which were released and celebrated at Harvard Square’s legendary folk venue, Club Passim. His first CD “The Burn of Summer” brought recognition as a finalist; Dave was nominated for the Mountain Stage emerging artist competition in West Virginia. This album also enjoyed regular airtime on Folk Radio’s WUMB in Boston, MA. Last year, Dave was nominated in the Providence Phoenix for best folk act. .

- “...Taps hopeful, bluesy melodies and reverses lyrical expectations at every turn... exudes a brand of humane charm that sets him apart from every other songwriter you’ll see this year.”
--Club Passim. - "Dave Dersham is a storyteller who makes the dark and troubling underbelly of the world and its messes sound nearly lighthearted. A deft twist of phrase reveals as much to the listeners about themselves as about the writer and his subject, and plenty about our current state of affairs."
--Brian QTN. Troubadour, and three-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist. - "...Defies the trappings of songwriters. He deftly sidesteps with wit and melody unlike many I've known. A true champion of art. "
--Elam Blackman. Founder, Constant Clip Records. - “Dersham’s lyrics are fiercely honest, wonderfully literate, and a full-on challenge to our current state of indifference.”
--Karl Meyer, environmental journalist, award-winning children’s author. - Visit Dave's Website - Click Here
